DOING OUR PARTTCAA helps in cleaning up our environment.March 21, 2009 -- The Tunkhannock Ambulance Dive Team and Denaples Auto Parts assisted in removing a vehicle from the Bowman's Creek. Members became aware of a vehicle in the creek and organized efforts to have it removed from our waterways. It was reported that the vehicle has been in the creek since the 2006 flood. Denaples Auto Parts and TCAA Members volunteered their time and equipment on this cold March morning to remove this hazard from the waterways. The operation took about two and a half hours to complete, utilizing approximately 12 people. Members waded into the fridge water to attach the cables to the vehicle.
The vehicle was pulled out of the creek and up over a 30' embankment.
Special thanks to everyone that was evolved in this effort to clean up our local waterways.
